he Gyrn Castle Fishery probably provides the best Carp fishing in
North Wales, if not in the whole of the North West of England as well.
With two lakes of 3 Acres and 1 Acre respectively, the area is
surrounded by beautiful private woodlands and stocked with Carp weighing
up to 32 lbs, as well as Rudd and Tench.

This exclusive fishery benefits from really fantastic fishing from
eight designated pegs. The lakes have a variety of depths ranging from
2ft to 10ft with a stream running in one end, and a dam at the other.
We are pleased to announce that the Top Lake has now been reopened
after extensive weed and silt clearing. The Bottom Lake is also open as
The top lake at Gyrn is not an easy water by any means, and provides a
challenging day’s fishing. All tactics will work well at Gyrn in the
right conditions, so bring plenty of bait. Please call 01745 561 672

The Top Lake
To ensure no overcrowding the proprietors try to confine the fishing
to not more than 8 anglers on any one day. Fishing is allowed dawn till
dusk on a day ticket, but 24 hours and longer stays are also available.
Pegs must be pre-booked. Permit money will be collected on the bank on the day
Day Permit: £18 (6.30am – 9.00pm)
24 Hour Permit: £25
The Bottom Lake
Peg prices for the bottom lake are £15 per day, 6.30am – 9pm. There is also a £7.50 ticket available, from 2pm – 9pm. This is available on the bottom lake only.

The rules of fishing are given on the permit but no dogs or children
please, unless the latter are fishing and have purchased a permit. The
spouse of the angler is welcome. Not more than 3 rods per angler and
please use barbless hooks.
No cars allowed in the areas of the lakes. Please park your vehicle in Glan yr Afon Lodge car park.
Accommodation & Refreshment
The Red Lion Inn, Llanasa or White Lion Inn, Glan yr Afon are both
within easy walking distance of the lakes and provide both excellent
food and refreshments.
